I learned a couple things this weekend.
1.) Unless you dig flashing your panties to all of Dallas (or if you have just had enough vodka sodas to not care), do not wear a skirt whilst riding a mechanical bull. You will also find that it does not allow for a graceful mount.
2. ) Definitely be at the ready with a camera, because you can get some awesome shots of people (but ESPECIALLY your significant other) riding and falling off:
Yeah, I made an ass out of myself, but the good news is that I don’t really care, and everyone was as least as drunk as I was. It was a really fun night, and I met some groovy people, so I felt particularly happy.
Have to admit with the beginning of a new work week my good mood has faded somewhat, so I feel a bit MEH right now and not up for writing.
However, Davey and I have had a heart to heart and we think one reason we both are feeling unsatisfied with THINGS - and therefore him losing his shit because he’s bored and me losing mine because I’m frustrated – is that we are feeling really constrained by the car. Unfortunately, the only solution really is to get another one. I really resisted this for as long as possible, but if we are both going to be working full time now it is just going to have to be done.
And I do think it will make a difference in our routines – no longer having to worry about waking him up to take me if it is a day I have to take the train, or if it is a day I need the car he won’t be trapped at the house….Or, most of the time I want to go to the gym right before or right after work, but if he needs the car in the afternoons I have to come RIGHT HOME and that lessens my likelihood of going, which makes me irritable; and then I either don’t have a car or I have to pick him up at 11, which is a little late for me…
So, yeah. Necessary evil, I guess. But things will be better. Definitely better. I really think it is a huge reason this month has been so stressful for us, sadly.
Bah.
